Because of all this “family values” shit going around the media following politics, I just want to point out that Sookie and Jessica are both hardcore Christians. In her human life, Jessica only ever left her house for two things: church, and bible study groups. The night she was made a vampire, she had been sneaking out to her first party ever. At seventeen years old. Prior to that, all she ever did was study the bible. Then there’s Sookie, who was raised a “proper Christian lady” by Gran.
Sookie, who is still very religious, accepts this without a thought. Jess, who at one point of her life probably couldn’t be any more religious, who has to have memorized the bibly by now, is excited to see this. She ships it. She’s watching her OTP become canon. She’s fangirling. She has feels. Need I say more?
In short: you can be religious, and not crazy (even in the midst of the all-time crazies *cough cough AUTHORITY*).
